I am an Assistant Professor of Chemistry here at Kalamazoo College.
I hold a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry but my research interests classify me as a Biochemist.   I have been on the faculty since January of 2000, and before joining the faculty here I taught classes at the University of Michigan, in the College of Pharmacy.

My teaching responsibilities here are varied.  I teach four courses (Biochemistry, Chemical Analysis, Introductory Chem II, and Chemistry of Antibiotics).  In addition to teaching I am involved in several outreach programs that span my work here at the college and in the community.  I have been married for 16 years and I am the mother of two children.  I have been working on the enzyme nitric oxide synthase for some years now, first as a post-doctoral fellow in the lab of Dr. Michael Marletta at the University of Michigan and now here at Kalamazoo College.  I enjoy doing research, and especially love working with students at the undergraduate level.  My hobbies are watching sports (especially those involving my kids), watching CSI, bowling, and photography.

You can get more information about me, my reseach and the programs that I am involved in within the adjoining pages.
