Annotated bibliography & topic alternatives

Due: January 26th, Third Week

Assignment: Part I. Prepare an annotated bibliography-- a list of sources with commentary on their contents and relative usefulness-- for one selected policy area. While you should be as comprehensive as possible in your research, you may be selective about the sources you report.

Part II. Choose three possible topics related to your policy area. Write a brief description of each of these alternative topics.

Part III. Prepare a short presentation discussing your alternative topics and an overview of your research into possible sources.

Background paper & presentation #1

Due: January 19th, Second Week

Assignment: Part I. Find two interesting quotations about the automobile industry. Part II. Prepare a short background paper on one of the major automobile manufacturing firms. You should include information about the firm’s operations, employees, sales, international operations, relations with other firms (ownership positions, joint operating agreements, etc). Be sure to include references to your sources. Part III. Prepare a short presentation about this firm.
