The Results
China and the U.S. are in ruins at this point.  All of the internal resources that could go to sustaining trade with other nations are being devoted to taking care of survivors and rebuilding cities.  The lack of American and Chinese goods and the fact that they are no longer importing any but the most necessary goods forces the world economy to trade without it and find new markets for products.

Several new trade organizations form, in Asia, Europe, South America, etc. that are compatible not only internally but with the other trade structures.  True global trade is established, using the sense of goodwill and willingness to negotiate that follow the devastation of the war.  A global currency is introduced as well, and a global trade language evolves that is a derivative of Japanese, English, and French.  This ushers in a new era of global prosperity, as countries help each other economically.

Japan emerges as the new world superpower, helping to rebuild the U.S. and implementing their business and energy structures, making them dependent on them in a lot of ways.  Africa becomes an agricultural player to pick up where the U.S. no longer produces.
