First-year Seminar:
The Meaning of Life
Response paper assignments
Response paper for Week 2 - due Monday, October 4
Think about a time in your life when your life felt the most meaningful it ever has. The time could be a long period or just a few moments - whatever you can remember as a supremely meaningful time.
Describe the feeling, and what you think resulted in it. What situations or characteristics seem important for you to feel meaning? Was there anything significantly not present at the time?
Try to include some evocative language such as that we've seen in Wolfson and Frankl (and in Hemon). Some possible tools to do this: use symbolism, imagery, or careful choice of perfectly descriptive words.
Your paper should be typed, double spaced in a 10-point or 12-point font with standard margins. It should be at least a page long but no more than two pages long. Write your name on the back, please.
